Pointwest Launches Clinical Research Study

One of the branches in healthcare industry is the Clinical Research which determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens intended for human use. This may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relieving symptoms of a disease. In clinical research, evidence is collected to establish a treatment.

As Pointwest continues to provide excellent services as IT-BPM company in the healthcare industry, Clinical Research team was formed with the collaborative effort of Clinical Specialists (RPhs) and Business Analyst (BA) which aim is to provide trainings to employees in preparation of prospective Clinical Research Organization (CRO) client under the Health Care market circle.  

The team was formed last March 28, 2016 headed by the Senior Clinical Specialists: May Ann Barcena, Katrina Pacleb and Francia Perez with the training core group composed of Ronabylle Lao (BA) and four RPhs leads namely Ronald Sebastian, Abigail Catindig, Christine Marin, and Shenalyn Cabebe, who are tasked to conduct a study on clinical research as well as to create and develop training materials.

Business Analyst coordinates with the team on the research and development of training materials while Clinical Specialists focus on studying and familiarizing the tasks and workflow.

The two-day training will be divided into four modules with interactive activities and assessments:

DAY 1: Module 1 - Clinical Refresher Course
Module 2 - Introduction to Clinical Research

DAY 2: Module 3 - Overview of GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
Module 4 - MedDra Coding (Medical Coding Method or Medical Data Dictionary)


The training is set to be rolled out end of June 2016 which will provide an understanding of Clinical Research Principles and Practices.
